Characteristics of Noh
- Noh is one of Japan's oldest traditional performing arts, with a history of over 600 years.
- It combines music, dance and theatre to tell timeless stories.
- Depending on the role, performers wear various wooden Noh masks and maintain extremely restrained movements, achieving maximum effect with minimal movement.
- It was also registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2008.
Features of the Kashokaku Noh Theatre
- Since 1961, we have been promoting the spread of Nohgaku and nurturing the next generation of Noh performers.
- The Noh stage railing is decorated with wooden carvings of phoenixes, and there are nine vases placed under the stage to enhance the acoustics, which have been highly praised.
